FAQ

What is Thrive Direct Primary Care?  It is a membership based primary care practice.  We are a family medicine clinic that offers care to the whole family–infants, children, adolescents, adults.  We offer comprehensive and affordable care.

Does Thrive Direct Primary Care accept insurance?  No, we do not accept any insurance plan.

Why would I want to pay for DPC if I have insurance?  Time, quality, and convenience.  Because DPC doctors do not have to deal with the hassles of insurance, they have more time for you and to provide excellent care.  You will not be rushed in and out.  You will have a personalized healthcare plan.  You will not have to spend time waiting in a waiting room with people who are sick.  DPC helps make the most efficient use of your time–you spend more quality time face to face with your doctor and less time waiting.  You will have exceptional access to the doctor that you would not normally receive at a traditional practice.

Do I still need to have insurance?  Yes, we recommend having insurance or a healthshare plan for specialist visits and major health emergencies or accidents.

Do you accept medicare patients?  No, due to medicare regulations we are not able accept medicare patients at this time.  However, we may be accepting medicare patients in the future, so stay tuned!

What happens if I need to see a specialist or go to the hospital?  Though Dr. Lomotey will be able to manage many of your healthcare concerns, there may be times when a specialist’s input is needed or you are ill enough to require an emergency room visit or hospitalization.  Dr. Lomotey does not work in the hospital.  However, she will review your hospital records and will resume care when you are discharged from the hospital.

What if I need medical attention away from home?  When medically appropriate, Dr. Lomotey can see you virtually or you can discuss your needs by email, secure message or over the phone.

How will I know if Thrive Direct Primary Care is right for me? Call the practice to schedule a free virtual “meet and greet” with the doctor.  (Note, this is not a medical appointment but rather is meant for you to meet the doctor, learn more about DPC, and let the doctor know your goals and needs so we can see if we are the right fit. It is a virtual 30 minute appointment).
